USCFL FOOTBALL GREATS MEMORIAL CARDS
This series of trading cards honors
those pioneers and greats of American football who are no longer with
us, but whose skills and innovations have shaped the game we know and
love today. They include legendary players like Harold "Red" Grange who
ran for five touchdowns and passed for a sixth for Illinois who
defeated Michigan 39-14 in 1924. There are also cards here for
legendary coaches like Glenn Scobey "Pop" Warner, Amos Alonzo Stagg,
Robert Zuppke, and George Halas, all considered legends of their
time. Vince Lombardi, Paul "Bear" Bryant, Woody Hayes, and Bo
Schembechler were considered to be among the last of the "old school"
coaches. And we honor more recent departures like Bill Walsh of the San
Francisco 49ers, Sean Taylor of the Washington Redskins, and Chris Henry of the Cincinnati Bengals. Everyone
here at the United States Cartoon Football League salute these men for all they have brought to the game of football.
