Each starting player also receives a $1,000 bonus ($500 for reserve players) added to the next year's salary for each post-season appearance, such as playoff games, and the All-Star game. If a team wins the Gold for the Gold game, each starting player on that team receives a $5,000 bonus ($2,500 for reserves), to be added to the following year's salary. Players are paid twice each month, on the 14th and the 28th, even during the off-season. The payroll year runs January 1 through December 31 of each year. Players under the age of 18 have their salaries paid into a trust fund, though they receive a weekly allowance for "walking around" money. Players over the age of 18 are eligible to sign up for the USCFL Health Plan-Part B. Players over the age of 18 with one year of service are eligible for the USCFL 401k Programs, both traditional (pre-tax), or the Roth 401k (after-tax) program, as well as a Flexible Spending Program, which covers health care expenses with pre-tax dollars which are not covered by insurance, such as deductibles, co-payments, co-insurance, and non-covered services.
